TODAY at the Goethe-Institut Nigeria, an exhibition called "Crossing Compasses"

Those in Lagos are invited to a programme called "Crossing Compasses" taking place at Goethe Institut Lagos, City Hall, 30 Catholic Mission Street, Lagos Island, today, November 3, 2012, at 3pm.

“Crossing Compasses” links students from Nigeria and Germany in an effort to promote creative and cultural exchange through images. The project presents photographers from “Yaba College of Technology” in Lagos and “Neue Schule für Fotografie” in Berlin that exchanged their experiences on cross-cultural visits to the respective cities.

Overcoming prejudices and changing views by showing characteristics far from established stereotypes will be the main goal of Crossing Compasses. But as well to celebrate the diversity of different cultures and question commonly held views, as well as provide international field experience for emerging young photographers.

The exhibition takes place within the Lagos Photo Festival and is part of the 50 years festivities of Goethe-Institut Nigeria and supported by Aktion Afrika.

It's free, so come along and be entertained by a very interesting exhibition of images.
