Impact Hub, an outfit based in Abuja, is holding a series of exhibitions designed to stimulate public interest (especially the youth) in the subject of leadership. According to the organisers,
"Leadership it is said is a critical factor that is crucial to national development. The concept of leadership is taught in schools but there is also a saying ‘Many things are taught but most things are caught’. In other words, if individuals (especially youth) are not actively engaged in the subject of leadership in a creative and participatory manner, their full potential in leadership may not be actualized.
"The exhibition consist a tour through a leader’s life using visual/video aids. The guided tours however take a closer look at various aspects of leadership such as the background/ history, character, habits, methods, challenges (faced), of the leader exhibited and seek to bring to fore lessons that are useful for the ‘here and now’. Next, the participants are encouraged to identify their spheres of influence and put into practice the principles of leadership they have learned. This is achieved through visual displays, video content as well as games that teach leadership and take home assignments. In the first week over 250 students participated in the guided tour program and a similar number has been booked to take part in the second week.
"Impact Hub Leadership Clubs for schools is a follow-up program designed to ingrain the desire for leadership and equip children with requisite skills."
